Course summary

Computer Science is the study of the foundational principles and practices of computation and computational thinking, and their application in the design and development of computer systems. It is a practical subject where you can apply the academic principles learned in the classroom to real-world systems. It’s an intensely creative subject that combines invention and excitement and can look at the natural world through a digital prism. Computer Science pupils go on to study the subject at university and in apprenticeships. Computing skills are also valuable in various engineering and scientific subjects. Computer Science is highly valued by employers - pupils follow careers in many fields including software engineering, database design and management, network engineering, and cyber-security.
