Course summary

The course is based on the official Hanban examination resources with all students having the option of sitting the HSK1 examination at the end of the year. Learn to communicate basic information about yourself and your family, understand and be able to actively use 150 words in Mandarin, gain a basic understanding of how Chinese characters are formed and be able to recognise the most common basic forms. Learning Mandarin is very different from the European language students will have previously learned at school and they might be surprised at how easy it is with no tenses or endings to learn. All we ask that they have an open mind and the desire to wrap their tongue around a few new sounds!
