The A Level Physics specification covers initially fundamental areas of physics, such as forces, waves and electricity, and later topics build on these in order to give students a broad knowledge of both classical and modern physics concepts. The specification also has a practical endorsement which gives students opportunities to use relevant apparatus and techniques to develop and demonstrate special practical skills. The course is designed to inspire students to think as scientists.
This course is for the student who wishes to extend their knowledge of physics beyond GCSE and go on to study physics or a physics related course at university. Students require a minimum Grade of 7:7 in GCSE Combined Science or a Grade 7 in GCSE Physics and also a Grade 7 in Mathematics before embarking on this course.
