A Level Drama & Theatre is a creative, practical and challenging course whereby students will develop skills in producing theatre as a performer, director and designer. Learners will be exposed to live theatre, a variety of classical and contemporary texts and influential theatrical practitioners, companies and styles. This course aims to cover a vast range of social, political, historical drama and theatre giving students a well-rounded and practical knowledge of theatre making but also an insight into the world in which they live.
Grade 6 at GCSF Drama, and Grade 6 at GCSE English.
Component 1-Theatre Workshop (20%): A devised performance or design based on a classical text. This component is assessed internally through a performance/design as well as the submission of a creative log Component 2-Text in Action (40%): A scripted and devised performance or design developed in response to a stimulus. This component is assessed by a visiting examiner through final performance and the submission of a process report Component 3- Textin Performance (40%): An exploration of three set texts culminating in a written examination.
