You will explore the boundaries of what is possible with digital photography. During the course, you will use DSLR cameras on manual settings as well as exploring various forms of digital and cameraless photography using light-sensitive media. You will experiment with different styles and genres of photography including portraiture, landscape, still life, documentary, fashion, experimental imagery and photographic installation as well as video, film and animation. You will have the opportunity to use a green screen in our photography studio and explore the boundless world of editing with Adobe Creative Cloud in our bespoke Mac suite. You will be encouraged to become an expert at framing and composition, harnessing light on location in our photography studio.
All candidates are expected to achieve a minimum of five GCSEs at grade 9 to 5, including English and Maths, and at least grade 7 in the A Level subjects to be studied, or equivalent subjects.
Two components: a personal Investigation (60%) completed between January in Year 12 and Christmas in Year 13 and an externally set assignment (40%) completed between January and Easter in Year 13.
