A film, a piece of theatre, a piece of music, or a book can make a difference. It can change the world” Alan Rickman By working collaboratively, students will have the opportunity to develop important social and communication skills, such as teamwork, problem-solving, and effective communication. In addition to devising and creating their pieces, students will study and analyse professional works providing students with valuable insight into the techniques and strategies used by experienced performers and can help them develop a more nuanced understanding of the craft. Students will learn and perform pieces from professional repertoire. Focusing on contextual information and practitioner theories can also help students develop a deeper appreciation for the historical and cultural contexts in which different works were created, as well as the various approaches and perspectives that have been developed over time. This approach can help students develop a range of skills and knowledge that will be valuable both within and beyond the performing arts, including creativity, critical thinking, and cultural awareness.
