Course summary

Economics is the study of how resources are allocated and how economic theories have an enormous impact on society. A-level economics is the study of how resources are allocated and how economic theories have an enormous impact on society. For example, the decisions past and present of the UK government have led to poor macroeconomic performance and negative economic growth. In addition to these macroeconomic issues, the subject considers simple decisions by firms such as whether or not to raise their prices. The subject is highly respected by universities as it offers students the opportunity to improve their analytical and evaluative skills and helps them develop an ability to work with Mathematics and to show excellent written analysis. A Level in Economics at DLD College allows learners to develop tools that can be applied to a wide range of real-world situations rather than simply focusing on a fact-based approach. We offer a course that focuses on key economic concepts that will stay contemporary, thus equipping students with the ability to make informed decisions in a range of contexts. The focus is very much on why the economic world works in the way it does and what can be done by economic agents to influence this.
