Course summary

Trying to neatly define the study of Politics is impossible, as it encompasses so many different aspects of our lives. This course is ideal for those who have a keen interest in domestic and US current affairs. We explore principles such as democracy, social justice, freedom and rights; both in the abstract and the practical application. Who has power? Are our government structures legitimate and effective? Why do some people never vote? Is social media helping public debate? Are women truly treated equally? Why did we leave the EU? We won’t find satisfying answers to all these questions; but we will have fun exploring them.
