Art and Design brings together the Art and Design & Technology departments in a contemporary and creative hub, reflecting modern practice, allowing for new pathways and opportunities to explore beyond what you expect to see in schools. With five distinctive areas within the faculty, pupils gain more experiences of the opportunities each area can offer. These are: 1. Fine Art (painting, printmaking, sculpture and ceramics) 2. Textiles 3. Photography 4. Resistant Materials and 3D Design 5. Graphic and Product Design
Sixth Form admissions at Malvern College are based on entrance tests and an interview with a member of the College’s academic staff. Applicants must pass the College’s standard entry criteria including an online CAT4 test and an English test (Oxford Placement Test) to qualify. If successful, conditional offers are made, requiring a minimum of six (I)GCSE passes. In addition, ‘7’ or above will be required for pupils studying Maths A level and ‘8’ or above for those wanting to study Further Maths A level or IB Higher Level Maths. While a grade of ‘7’ or above is advisable for A level or IB higher level Science subjects, it is not essential.
