The Business course is designed to engage students with topics and issues that are relevant in today’s society, through key contemporary developments such as digital technology, business ethics and marketing topics. Business gives an understanding of the many problems businesses can face and encourages students to develop analytical and evaluative ways to solve them. Students will study businesses in a variety of contexts (large/small, UK focused/global, service/manufacturing). The topics covered lend themselves to studying and engaging with the business world. The course demonstrates the interrelated nature of business using business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary business issues and situations. The specification and assessment should encourage students to follow business developments and think critically about contemporary business issues with most of the assessment material being based on real business situations.
