Pupils in Lower and Upper Sixth can choose between studying the EDUQAS A Level PE or the EDEXCEL BTEC level 3 extended diploma in sport (outdoor adventure). You do not have to have studied PE at GCSE level to study either of these courses. The PE A Level course is run as a linear two-year A Level. We follow the Eduqas syllabus. There are five topic areas which are taught throughout the two years and make up 70% of the A level. These are: • Exercise physiology, training and performance • Movement analysis, technology and biomechanics • Sport psychology • Skill acquisition • Sport and society All five topic areas are examined by two separate papers at the end of the second year.

Entry requirements

A Minimum of 6 GCSEs at Grade 5 or above to include English and Mathematics. At least a Grade 6 is obtained in the subjects the student would like to study in the Sixth Form. International students will be asked to sit a test in English and Mathematics.
