Under the AQA Board, students will study the inter related nature of business using business models, theories and techniques to support analysis of contemporary business issues and situations. The course is designed to engage students with topics and issues that are relevant in today's society, through key contemporary developments such as digital technology, business ethics and globalisation topics. This course helps students develop an enthusiasm for studying business, gaining a holistic understanding of business in a range of contexts and developing a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society's needs an wants. Students will study the behaviours from a range of perspectives, investigating the enterprising and creative approaches to business problems and opportunities. Ethical dilemmas and responsibilities will be studied, together with a range of relevant business and generic skills, including decision-making, problem-solving, the challenging of assumptions and critical analysis. They will also learn how to apply numerical skills in a range of business contexts.
Our minimum grade entry requirements for 2024 are: 5 GCSEs grade 4 and above. GCSE English and Maths (or equivalent) Grade 4 and above Subject Specific Requirements: Grade 4-4 in combined science
This is a linear qualification with examinations taken in May/June. All assessments must be taken in the same series. The course is delivered over 2 years and have 10 Units (6 in year 1 and 4 in year 2).
