In Year 12 students will study ancient Greek and Judaeo-Christian influences on Philosophy of Religion, traditional arguments for the existence of God, and the problem of evil. In Ethics they will study different theories about right and wrong and how they can be applied to issues in medical and social ethics. In Year 13 the course will focus on issues related to religious language, religious experience, meta-ethics and conscience. In addition to this will be a study of developments in Theology and Christian thought, considering concepts such as original sin and salvation, the challenges of secularism, as well as perspectives offered from feminist and liberation theology.
Each of the six subjects is marked out of 7 (maximum of 42 points).
Assessment takes place at the end of two years with three exam papers in Philosophy of Religion, Ethics, and Developments in Religious Thought.
