The new A-level in Spanish builds on the knowledge, understanding and skills gained at GCSE. It develops a range of transferable skills including communication, critical thinking, research skills and creativity. Students have the opportunity to develop a greater understanding of culture and society in any Spanish-speaking country that interests them, not just Spain.
For students wishing to study BTEC courses, the expectation is that they would hold five GCSEs at grade 4 or above ( the equivalent of the previous C grades). For students wishing to study A-level courses, we would expect that four of their GCSE grades would be at grade 8 or above for them to complete thier course
Assessment is entirely based upon examinations taken at the end of the two years. Paper 1 Introductory topics 96 33.3% Paper 2 Psychology in context 96 33.3% Paper 3 Issues and options 96 33.3%
