The course aims to: • help you to develop your general study skills. • teach you to communicate at a higher level in Spanish. • teach you much more about a wide range of aspects of the society or societies in which the language is spoken.
You should have achieved a grade 7 or above in GCSE Spanish. You will need to feel equally confident in listening, speaking, reading, translation and writing; you will have a broad lexis and a good understanding of grammar.
Paper 1: Listening, Reading and Writing. Assessment is by a two-and-a-half-hour listening, reading, and written exam. Weighting: 50% Paper 2: Writing Assessment is by a two-hour written paper. Weighting: 20% Paper 3: Speaking Assessment is by a 21-23-minute speaking exam. Weighting: 30%
