Course summary

The course provides students with critical analysis skills that will benefit them in any walk of life. You will learn about some of the most famous leaders in History, their brilliance and their flaws. It is a study of human nature and will provide students with an insight into modern times. This course is suitable for anyone interested in 'people'! You will see both great heroic struggles such as the Civil Rights movement and also moments of great destruction including during Stalin's rule over Russia.

Entry requirements

Grade 6 in preferably History GCSE but would look at students achieving that in another Humanity GCSE or either English. Students do not need to have taken History GCSE but suggest a discussion with Head of Department.

How you'll be assessed

1C: The Tudors - 2.5 hr exam (one interpretation question, two essays). 2N: American Dream - 2.5 hr exam (one source question, two essays). NEA: Russia - one essay completed during the course.
