Business provides students with the opportunity to think practically and innovatively to find commercial solutions to real world problems. It encourages students to be reflective, responsible and proactive learners, who have an appreciation of the ever changing business environment. Key topics include how to become a good leader, how to analyse internal and external threats and opportunities and managing financial decisions. We are always seeking ways to relate theory to the current business climate and set weekly work which requires students to engage with the subject beyond the syllabus. In addition to this, we encourage students to enter a number of national competitions, most notably Young Enterprise, where we have achieved great success in recent years. Naturally, the study of Business at A Level feeds into studying courses such as business management, accounting or finance at university, or degree-apprenticeships. There is also the option of using your entrepreneurial talents to build your own start-up business to positively impact society.
No requirements, but grade 6 in Maths would be useful.
