You will learn to write precisely and to argue logically, assessing the strengths and weaknesses of philosophical positions. In this respect Philosophy is a subject that compliments many other areas of study including Law, Politics, History, Sociology, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Maths and Music. It is a highly regarded and rigorous academic subject that will be of use to a wide range of careers including Journalism, Law, Medicine, Veterinary Science, Police work, Teaching and Public Relations.
If you have studied GCSE Religious Studies: Grade 6 or above. If you have not studied Religious Studies GCSE: Grade 6 or above in either English Literature, History or other related Humanities subject.
2x 3hr written examinations, each worth 100 marks For each unit (and therefore twice in each exam paper) you will produce: · A descriptive 3-mark response · Two explanatory 5-mark responses · An explanatory 12-mark extended writing response · An evaluative 25-mark essay
