In the French Department we aim to foster a love of language learning, developing our students’ confidence and focusing on communicating in a supportive, fun environment. As one of the world’s main languages, spoken across five continents, French opens up many economic, cultural and career opportunities, and at LWC we aim to build a positive rapport between our students and the French-speaking world that will remain in adult life.
Our current requirement for entry into the Sixth Form is a minimum of six Grade 5s at GCSE (or the equivalent), preferably with Grade 7s in the subjects to be studied at A Level. Places are offered on the basis of an interview with the academic team and Head of Sixth Form, academic assessment, predicted GCSE results and a report from the pupil’s current school.
