Course summary

Studying Sociology gives us an understanding of the society in which we live, how this shapes ideas, behaviour and culture and how people interacting together shape their communities. It is a living subject that helps us understand pressing contemporary issues such as diversity, identity, inequality and the structures that influence these. It will help you answer questions such as why are men more likely to commit crime than women and how early childhood experiences shape the person you are.
