This course enables learners to develop: • An understanding of and ability to apply the fundamental principles and concepts of computer science. • The ability to analyse problems in computational terms through practical experience of solving problems and writing programs. • The capacity to think creatively, innovatively, analytically, logically and critically. • The capacity to see relationships between different aspects of computer science. • An understanding of the impact that technology is having and may have in the future on us individually and on society
GCSE COMPUTING OR GCSE COMPUTER SCIENCE GRADE 7
Students will sit two written papers at the end of the A Level course which each contribute 40% to the overall mark. They will also complete a programming project in the second year which accounts for 20% of the final qualification grade.
