Religious Studies is the gateway to many undergraduate degrees and provides a good foundation for subjects such as anthropology, ethics, philosophy, sociology, theology and more. Religious studies is useful in many career paths and provides skills that are applicable in, but not limited to, politics (PPE), the civil service, the armed forces, medicine, international business, the media. This course will appeal to you if you have an inquisitive mind and enjoy problem solving or if you want to engage more critically with how religion influences society and ask questions such as is there a God, are we truly free and what makes an action good? Throughout the course you will engage in critical analysis of theological, philosophical, and ethical theories and concepts.
