If you enjoy being creative, want to increase your practical skills and improve your communication, analytical and research abilities, Art and Design is a great choice at A Level. As with all A Levels, Art requires a high level of commitment and hard work. The variation of written and practical work fluctuates throughout the course and it is important that students are able to meet deadlines, work independently, and develop their work to ensure it reflects their true ability.
Minimum Grade 6 for at least one of GCSE English or English Literature and Art. An innate talent for art and an enthusiasm to learn more. Willingness to visit exhibitions and galleries that relate to a given theme. Students will be expected to continually produce supporting sketchbook work outside of lesson time.
