Students will develop a thorough understanding of how businesses operate day to day and what affects their success. Students will learn how to prepare basic financial documents and assess the performance of a business based on a wide range of factors. They will learn practical skills essential to running or working in a business such as conducting market research, planning business meetings and prioritising business tasks. Students will also learn how to evaluate different options for financing a business, such as crowdfunding or issuing shares.
Students should be interested in how businesses work and what makes them successful. They should be able to work independently and meet coursework deadlines. Communication (verbal and written) and numeracy skills are assessed. GCSEs in Mathematics and English are essential.
