A Level Product Design enables seamless transition into studying a wide range of courses at university, such as Architecture, Industrial Design, Product Design and Engineering as well as higher level apprenticeships in related subjects. It is also a highly sought-after subject with employers across many industries due to the confidence that it instils in students and the transferrable skills learnt in communication, creativity, independent working, critical thinking and problem-solving. As a subject it will combine well with a range of other A Level options, including Maths, Physics, Business, Economics, Biology and Geography but past students have also studied Art, English, MFLs, History and RPE together with Product Design. It is a pivotal STEAM subject which helps you to develop a technical understanding of how products function and are manufactured, but we also look closely at the relationship between the designer, their client, and the world around them, whilst keeping environmental issues at the forefront of the work we do.
