The new A Level Spanish exams have retained much of the course content of the previous specification and the focus on current affairs, literature and culture is still present. Candidates will be required to demonstrate fluency, knowledge and creativity in varied formats which are all underpinned by sound grammatical awareness. Listening and reading comprehensions as well as translation work will still feature in exams as well as essay style answers, whether discursive or literary in nature. The course is linear with three examined modules including a speaking test which precedes the main exam period.
