At a time of political and economic uncertainty at home and abroad there has never been a more important time to understand more about the workings and ideas behind how we are governed. During the A Level course students will look at the key institutions and issues in domestic politics both within the UK and the USA. Students will debate various issues such as the nature of democracy, the fairness of elections as well as recent changes in party politics. Students will develop key academic skills such as improving their writing so that they can construct and communicate arguments clearly and coherently using appropriate political vocabulary.
Successful 16+ candidates will usually receive an offer of a place conditional on their performance at the assessment day.
