Course summary

Study beyond the classroom: There will be additional opportunities for speaking practice outside the timetabled lessons. A list of resources for independent study is given to each student. To be a successful linguist you need to: • Be interested in developing your knowledge of how a language works. • Be interested in the intellectual challenge presented by a wide range of issues. • Be willing to express your ideas verbally, to improve your accent and fluency. Students who have studied languages at Derby High have gone on to: University at the Sorbonne and prestigious U.K. universities, studying Medicine, Law, Business Accountancy and Teaching.
