
There are two papers at the end of Year 12 forming the AS qualification, one for Core Maths and the other for Statistics and Mechanics. At the end of Year 13 there are three papers for the A Level, two in Core Maths and one in Statistics and Mechanics. Once students have settled into the AS Maths course those who are excelling have the option to take up AS Further Maths. This involves studying Further Pure Maths content, and a choice of one of Decision or additional Mechanics, Statistics, or Further Pure Maths.
Grade 7+ in either GCSE or IGCSE Maths
The entire course is assessed by written examinations, two at the end of Year 12, and three at the end of Year 13. At AS Level the Pure Maths paper is two hours and the Applied paper is one hour, while at A Level all three papers are two hours.
