Course summary

We follow the AQA courses at A-level, where students expand upon their linguistic knowledge from GCSE, leading towards a much greater level of fluency. Students can study French, German or Spanish. We encourage our A-level linguists to take part in a week’s European Work Experience placement, where they not only benefit from practising their language skills in a target-language country, but also gain invaluable firsthand cultural awareness and vocational experience. Former A-level linguists of our department have gone on to enjoy successful careers in many fields, including finance, law, engineering, dentistry, human resource management and medicine amongst others.
