How you'll be assessed

This course is designed to enable you to acquire a knowledge and understanding of the language of drama and theatre as well as to develop your analytical and practitioner skills. There are separate performer and design components and discrete marking criteria for the performer and designer roles. You will study the work of key directors and playwrights and learn about a range of important performance styles. Written work is a crucial aspect of the course and students write about their ideas for performing roles, how they would direct a scene from a play and their design ideas. Theatre trips are an essential part of the course.
