
Students will study: Anatomy and physiology; fitness testing; practical sport; rules, regulations and officiating; professional development of sports industry; fitness training and programming; leadership in sport; coaching for performance; skill acquisition; investigating business in sport; research methods; sports based work experience; OAA; development and provision of sports and physical activity.
Five GCSEs at Level 9 to 4 or equivalent, including English and preferably GCSE PE.
Assessment is specifically designed to fit the purpose and objective of the qualification. It includes a range of assessment types and styles suited to vocational qualifications in the sector. There are a combination of centre set and assessed project work, Pearson set and assessed project work and a formal examination for one of the units.
