Classical Civilisation gives students the opportunity to see where many of our modern institutions and culture originates from and how we have changed (or not!) over the years. It is the study of the culture, history and literature that has shaped our civilisation, and students will read some of the most important works in Western literature. Students will also study history and some of the great names of the Classical world; Homer, Sophocles, Julius Caesar, Mark Antony and Cleopatra, to name but a few
For entry into the Sixth Form, candidates are required to have at least six good passes at GCSE, including English and Maths.
Three written examinations at the end of the course.
