You will improve your analytical skills and develop your written communication during a course which is compelling and wide ranging. Sources studied include the literature of the Romans and Greeks in English, and their archeological remains. It is an intellectually challenging subject and highly regarded by both universities and employers.
You do not need to have studied this subject at GCSE to take it at A-Level. However, you need to have an interest in history, literature, art and archaeology. A desire to understand cultures and societies, which can be very different from our own, is also important.
Assessment is by final examination.
