Particularly strong candidates can consider Further Mathematics in addition to Mathematics A Level. This course extends knowledge of A Level Mathematics ideas and techniques. It is a course for very able students who want to study two A Levels in Mathematics. The structure follows that of A Level Mathematics, addressing each subject in more depth. There are 4 papers in total: Papers 1 and 2 Core Pure Mathematics - proof, complex numbers, matrices, further algebra and functions, further calculus, further vectors, polar coordinates, hyperbolic functions, differential equations. Paper 3 Further Mathematics Options - choose from further pure mathematics; further statistics; further mechanics; or decision mathematics. Paper 4 Further Mathematics Options - choose from further pure mathematics; further statistics; further mechanics; or decision mathematics.
Students must have achieved grade 9 or 8 at GCSE level and must study Mathematics A Level as well.
All units will be assessed by written examination
