Classical Civilisation

Course summary

It provides a link with our understanding of the origins of our modern day world in many varied areas. Far more than simply daily life in the past, Classical Civilisation offers the opportunity to study the Art, Architecture, History, Archeology and Literature of the Classical Mediterranean that influenced the development of those areas in our modern world. The study of these areas provides a valuable insight into the changing nature of human endeavour and core values but also demonstrates that in many key areas, the people behind the great Empires of the past had familiar views, emotions and weaknesses.
