The Mathematics course is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of the key elements of pure and applied Mathematics. It encourages and nurtures problem-solving skills and develops resilience, creativity and logical thought processes. The course is enriched with additional opportunities such as competitions, conferences and trips. Each year, students visit Warwick University where they hear from professionals who use Mathematics in their everyday lives and careers. Students use up-to-date graphing software and web-based resources to enhance their learning to give them additional skills that will ensure they are equipped for the modern technological workplace.
For entry into the Sixth Form, candidates are required to have at least six good passes at GCSE, including English and Maths.
The course is assessed through three 2 hour papers at the end of the course.
