If you are interested in discussing and debating, then this course is for you. You will study The Tudors, a period in world history which assesses issues of change, continuity, cause and consequence. Topics include Henry VII’s Government, Henry VIII’s Break with Rome, Edward, Mary and Elizabeth. You will assess how aspects of the past have been differently interpreted. You will study Italy and Fascism 1900-1945, learning about the reasons for the crisis of Liberal Italy, Mussolini’s rise to power, Dictatorship, Italian Society and foreign policy. For their US History coursework, students are encouraged to focus on topics such as the developments in US Black Civil Rights, the US Economy, the changing nature of US Foreign Policy across the 20th century and the integration of Native Americans into US society.
