Course summary

A two year course which includes a practical assessment in the form of a short film or screenplay (20% of the final marks) and an essay based theory paper (80%). Modules include Hollywood films; Modern US films; British films; non‐English films. It will be of particular interest to arts and humanities pupils who are interested in media but also may provide an interesting contrast for those following more traditional science programmes.

Entry requirements

Applicants are required to achieve a minimum of Grade 6 in six subjects at GCSE or iGCSE, however, candidates intending to study A Level Sciences or Languages are required to achieve a minimum of Grade 7, with Grade 8 required for Maths. For candidates not following either a curriculum in GCSE or iGCSE, they must meet the equivalent standards. For applicants where English is not their first language before applying, we require a recent UKiset test result. We will only proceed with an application where the Common European Framework Reference (CEFR) Score is C1 across all disciplines.
