Course summary

The course covers a broad range of history including the politics, economics and social aspects of two different, yet equally exciting periods that have had a massive impact on the world in which we live. The course will hopefully be supported by a range of trips both abroad and in the UK. Unit 1: Breadth Study: Germany 1871 – 1991. Unit 2: Depth Study: The Making of Modern Britain 1951 – 2007. Unit 3: Non-Examined Assessment (Coursework) – this can be on (almost) any topic of your choice that covers a 100 year period, but with a start date of no later than 1807.

Entry requirements

King's welcomes applications for admission to the 6th Form. We have a significant post-GCSE entry into our 6th Form and places are offered based on an interview and references from the candidate's current school. Candidates are expected to gain at least a 4/5 or 6 in each subject they hope to study at A Level and overall a minimum of 5 GCSEs with at least 4 GCSEs at Grade 4. Candidates applying to study BTECS will be offered places after interviews with the Deputy Head Academic and the Headmaster.
