Course summary

The girls will continue their study of the Latin language, consolidating and building on the knowledge they gained at GCSE, translating increasingly complex passages with fluency. We support the girls to expand their knowledge of vocabulary by further reading and providing vocabulary lists. They will study texts written by a range of prose authors including Livy and the verse-unseen author, Ovid, to develop their linguistic competence. Girls will sit two language examinations: Unseen Translation (1 hour 45 minutes); and Prose Composition or Comprehension (1 hour 15 minutes).
