The A level Politics course introduces students to a broad understanding of systems of government at home and abroad. The modules we study cover both the British and the US states, including Parliament in Westminster and devolved power in the regions, and key British political ideas: Liberalism, Conservatism and Socialism. Students can also study a range of further political ideas, including feminism and ecologism
For entry into the Sixth Form, candidates are required to have at least six good passes at GCSE, including English and Maths.
The course is assessed via three examinations, two focusing on British politics and the third on politics in the USA. There is no coursework component.
