Current Pupils Progression from the Fifth Form (Year 11) to the Sixth Form is not automatic and will depend on a pupil finding a programme of study leading to success in at least three full A levels. The nature of the subjects offered at St Peter’s is such that at least six grade 5s at GCSE are likely to complete this programme successfully. During the Fifth Form, those pupils whose progress suggests that they may not attain six grade 5 passes will be advised that the St Peter’s Sixth Form curriculum may not be suitable for their needs and will be assisted as they explore suitable alternatives. External Applicants for the Sixth Form All pupils wishing to enter the Sixth Form from another school will sit the Sixth Form Entrance Examination. An academic reference, including predicted GCSE grades where possible, will be obtained from their current school. For those performing well in the examination and with satisfactory predicted grades an offer of a place will be made contingent upon the pupil attaining at least 6 grades at GCSE /IGCSE or equivalent in their current school system. Those whose examination performance falls below the standard expected to enter the Sixth Form will not be offered a place.
