You will study physical, inorganic and organic chemistry in greater depth, which will provide you with valuable skills that can be applied to a variety of different subjects. These include problem-solving, mathematical and practical skills. The chemistry qualification opens the door to a wide range of career options both in and out of a lab.
The course demands good levels of scientific aptitude and numeracy. Experience shows that students with a grade 7-9 in GCSE chemistry and mathematics, a minimum grade 7 in double award science or above, are more suited to the course.
