Students will be introduced to a variety of experiences that explore a range of graphic communication media, processes and techniques within traditional and new media and will explore the use of drawing for different purposes, using a variety of methods and media on a variety of scales. Students’ exploration into relevant images, artefacts and resources relating to a range of art, craft and design, from the past and from recent times will be integral to the investigating and making processes. Responses to these examples will be demonstrated through practical and critical activities that show understanding of different styles, genres and traditions as well as an awareness of the importance of process as well as product.
Starting a two year A level course having completed GCSEs, the IB Middle Years Programme or an overseas equivalent at another UK or international school. Direct entry into Year 13/Upper Sixth having completed the first year of sixth form at another UK or international school.
60% coursework, 40% examination. All units are practical
