Further Maths is designed to stretch and challenge able mathematicians and prepare them for university courses in Mathematics and related quantitative and scientific subjects. You will need a grade 8 or above at GCSE to select this A Level in which Maths and Further Maths are studied alongside each other. The course is fast paced enabling students to gain deeper insight into how seemingly unrelated areas of Maths are linked.
An overall average of a grade 6 at GCSE or IGCSE in all subjects is required for entry to our Sixth Form, with a minimum of a grade 7 in the subjects you wish to study at A Level (a minimum of a grade 8 in Further Maths). In addition, you will be expected to take on greater responsibility for your own independent learning as part of the transition from life at school to university and further career.
