The course is broken down into 4 main themes: -Unity and diversity -Form and function -Interaction and independence -Continuity and change Within each theme there are the same 4 topics: 1. Molecules 2. Cells 3. Organisms 4. Ecosystems Within each topic there are standard and higherlevel content.
Higher Level is a more advanced course and students will be expected to have achieved higher grades at GCSE or their equivalent in their home country.
A total of 80% eternally assessed through 2 papers. Paper 1: 36%, Paper 2: 44% The remaining 20% is assessed via the internal assessment (IA) which consists of one scientific investigation task. This IA is completed as a residential trip at a Field Studies Centre, which will incur additonal costs.
