Geography is a subject that addresses key ideas and debates in our world today. Through the study of places, environments, processes and key concepts, students are able to understand and interpret their changing world. Geography helps students to develop as global citizens, equips them with new skills and encourages them to become critical and reflective learners who are inspired by the world around them. Fieldwork and research skills are a key feature of the A-level course. Geography is an extremely versatile and well- recognised qualification that can be studied to degree level as an art or as a science. It is a useful qualification for the following university courses; Architecture, Biomedical Science, Civil Engineering, Geology, Industrial Design, Logistics, Mechanical Engineering, Planning and many others.

Paper 1: 2hrs and 15 min written exam (30% weighting at A-level, 105 marks). Paper 2: 2hrs and 15 min written exam (30% weighting at A-level, 105 marks). Paper 3: 2hrs and 15 min written exam (20% weighting at A-level, 70 marks). Coursework: Independent Investigation requiring compulsory fieldwork (3000 – 4000 words).
