Why study Media? Today's society is one where people constantly live in the media or are using historical, social, cultural and following different media platforms. It is an ever-growing and expanding industry. If you are interested in finding out how and why certain types of language are used, theories behind media, how blogs, films, video games and magazines are created or camera angles and editing, then this is the course for you.
Our Sixth Form entry requirements are typically for students to achieve a minimum of five GCSEs, including grades 5 or above in English and Maths. o Studying Media will involve additional work for your portfolios and a willingness to work with technology of all types. o You must be prepared to be involved in filming and editing for events within school. o You need to be prepared to work both as an individual and as part of a team. o No prior knowledge of Media is needed but a thirst for knowledge and willingness to learn is essential.
