A-Level Computer Science is new to Wrekin College. It creates and fosters the enjoyment of Computing and stimulates curiosity about technology. In an industry that is still growing exponentially the ability to manipulate computers and use them to problem solve is vital in tomorrow’s world. The course will allow you to explore the physics, logic, history, future and vast social consequences of computers. There is a very strong emphasis on advanced computer programming.
It is expected that students will achieve a Grade 6 or above in GCSE Computer Science or another computing-related GCSE in order to take this subject in the Sixth Form. Failing this, a Grade 7 or above in Mathematics is desirable.
